ESETP
Overview
ESETP (Evaluating State Educational Technology Program) is a statewide program evaluation system driven by a technological infrastructure that connects all local education agencies, area education agencies, Iowa State University, and the Iowa Department of Education. It is primarily a feasibility study that empirically tests the scaling-up implementation of the effect of technology of the Iowa Professional Development Model. The first year concentrates on replication; the second year is focused on replication and scaling-up of first year impact studies. The third year is full implementation of the dissemination via technology of best practices to all schools needing and desiring this information.
Participants
The population is Iowa and the samples (Northwest, Loess Hills, and Heartland Consortia) are made up of 150 public school districts. Samples of middle school buildings will be selected for participation. Included in the samples are 43 districts that meet either the federal census definition for free and reduced lunch or schools in need of assistance (SINA) as defined by No Child Left Behind (NCLB). This data will be used for policy analysis and decision-making at various levels (Local Area Education Agency, Area Education Agency, Iowa Department of Education).
